John’s role model has always been his father, Scott Strandell. In the late 90’s John observed his father grind on the corporate floors of BMI in Nashville, TN. He later watched his dad help usher in the new age of digital music downloads. Unknowingly, this would instill something in John that years later he would discover. The desire to be a leader and a pioneer in the music industry. Producing has been the pathway for this desire.

John is the husband to Taylor Strandell and daddy to Leo, Judah, and baby girl on the way. Being a hubby and daddy is the most important and most rewarding part of his life. Family first.

John is an Artist, Producer, Songwriter, Mix Engineer, Music Director, Worship Leader, Drummer, Keys Player, Guitar Player, Vocalist, Sound Designer, Film Score Composer, Ableton Playback Engineer. Being a “jack of all trades and master of none” is not an option. Do it well, or leave it to someone else.

If you’re an enneagram person, John is a 3w4. He is purpose driven and goal oriented. He will not be satisfied till the job is finished, and done right in a timely manner. However, being a wing 4, he constantly aims to “read the room,” empathize, and be sensitive to the people and situations at hand.

There have been many success stories around the music John has gotten to write and produce for artists over the last several years. He has taken artists and bands from <1000 streams on Spotify to well over 100K. Some of his artists have hit upwards 1-4M streams. Recently John co-wrote, produced, and mixed a Billboard charting single that is saw AC and Hot AC Airplay!

John puts his whole heart into every project he touches. “The entire reason I got into production is because my passion is to help artists live out their calling. I want to literally help make their dreams come true.” – John
